Bran Flakes for Brekkie

Supper Satisfaction is not all about the supper! A decent breakfast is essential for good health in general and is even more important when you're trying to lose weight. Bran flakes are a great choice as they are a whole grain food, that fills you up and keeps you full for longer. It also is a great source of fibre.

The following is the recommended portion per person.

• 40g Bran flakes (Branded or generic are both fine, just watch the salt content when buying)
• 250ml / ¼ pint of low fat milk
• ½ teaspoon of honey

Add some fruit?
  • Half a small apple, cubed
  • A handful of pineapple chunks
  • 10g of dried sultanas
  • Half a banana, sliced
  • A handful of blueberries
  • 4 strawberries, sliced
Add some nuts
  • 10g mixed nuts
  • A couple of ground up cashews
  • 1 teaspoon of flakes almond
To Follow?
  • A glass of orange or fruit juice (with no added sugar)
  • A low fat yoghurt
  • 2 x slices of Weigh watchers whole meal bread, toasted, served with a little low fat spread
