Sweet Potato Crisps

Wednesday, June 16, 2010

A very simple recipe on the blog today. Sweet Potato crisps are a great alternative to regular crisps and are very easy to make.

Ready in no time, they are simply baked in the oven and topped with a little firey pepper to finish.

The recipe will make 2 portions

Ingredients
• 2 small sweet potatoes. Scrubbed and sliced into small strips with a potato peeler
• several sprays of Fry Light One Cal Spray Oil
• a little sea salt
• a little shake of ground cayenne or smoked paprika pepper to taste

Method
  1. Turn the oven to 220°C and line a baking tray with foil.
  2. Pat the sweet potato slices dry with some kitchen paper and arrange on the tray.
  3. Spray with the spray oil and lightly stir to coat all sides.
  4. Spread them out again so they are mainly in contact with the foil.
  5. Bake for 10-12 minutes until golden brown, turning once half way through. Keep an eye on them towards the end as they can quickly turn from done to burnt.
  6. Carefully remove from the oven and serve with the pepper.
